Short version: the calculators run entirely in your browser — no sign-up, no database. We use Google Analytics to measure usage, which sets one first-party cookie, and no advertising runs yet. Here's the detail.

What the tools collect
Nothing personal, and nothing that leaves your device. Every calculator on FramingMath does its math client-side — in your own browser — so the measurements you type are never sent to us or stored on a server. There is no account to create, no login, no email capture, and no contact form that transmits data.
When you copy or share a result, the numbers travel inside the page URL (for example
?w=11&h=14). That link is created on
your device and only goes wherever you choose to paste it — we don't see it.
What's stored on your device
A few small preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers how you like it between visits:
- your light or dark theme;
- your preferred unit (inches or centimeters);
- your chosen mat color for the preview;
-
your cookie choice — whether you
accepted or declined analytics (
fm-consent).
Local storage is not a cookie and is never transmitted — it stays in your browser. Clearing your site data removes it, and the tools work fine without it (they just fall back to the defaults).
Analytics & cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which calculators and guides are useful, in aggregate.
It runs with Google Consent Mode v2. A small cookie notice appears on your first visit: analytics
are on by default (opt-out), so the
analytics_storage signal defaults to
granted and Analytics sets a first-party
measurement cookie and records anonymized usage (Google anonymizes IP addresses; we don't use it
to identify you). You can Decline in that notice
to turn analytics off — we remember your choice on this device, and declining also clears the
Analytics cookie so measurement stops right away.
The advertising signals —
ad_storage,
ad_user_data and
ad_personalization — stay
denied, because no ads run on the site yet. We
don't build advertising profiles of you, and we never sell data — we have none to sell.
Prefer not to be measured? Install Google's official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block and clear the site's cookies in your browser.
EU, UK, Switzerland & Canada visitors
A site-wide cookie notice now offers an opt-out: analytics are on by default everywhere, including the EU, UK and Switzerland, and you can Decline in that notice — or use Google's opt-out add-on linked above, or your browser's cookie controls — to turn measurement off.
When we add advertising, we'll also add Google's certified consent message ("European regulations"), and analytics will return to consent-gated for these regions — denied by default until you accept.
Third-party services
FramingMath is a static site with a deliberately small list of third parties:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage measurement; see Analytics & cookies above.
- Cloudflare Pages — our static host, which serves the pages and keeps standard server access logs (such as IP address) for security and reliability, as hosting providers do.
Advertising is not live yet. We plan to fund the site with Google AdSense in future, alongside Google's certified consent message. When ads go live we'll update this policy to describe them before any ad cookies are ever set — at the time of this update, none are.
Children's privacy
FramingMath is a general-audience tool for picture framing and isn't directed at children, and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or which services we use — most notably when advertising goes live — we'll revise this page and update the date above. The changelog also records notable site changes.
